Terms of Service

By using Build List, you agree to these terms. They're written plainly on purpose.

1. About Build List

Build List is a mobile app where users document their vehicle builds, track parts and costs, and share their builds publicly. Build List is operated by CASW Holdings (“we,” “us,” or “our”).

By downloading or using the Build List app, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use Build List. By using the app, you confirm that you meet this requirement. If you're under 18, you should have permission from a parent or guardian.

3. Your Account

You're responsible for keeping your account credentials secure. If you sign in with Apple ID, your authentication is handled by Apple. Don't share your login with others or use someone else's account.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

4. Subscriptions & Billing

Build List offers optional paid subscription tiers — Pro and Creator — that unlock additional features.

  • Auto-renewal: Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period (monthly or annually) unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date.
  • Billing: Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase.
  • Cancellation: You can cancel at any time through your Apple ID account settings in the App Store. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period — you'll retain access until then.
  • Refunds: All refund requests are handled by Apple in accordance with their refund policy. We do not process refunds directly.
  • Price changes: We may change subscription prices. You'll receive advance notice and your existing subscription will not be affected until renewal.
  • Free tier: The free version of Build List remains free with no time limit.

5. Your Content

You retain ownership of everything you add to Build List — your vehicle data, parts lists, photos, and public build page content (“Your Content”).

By using Build List, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store, display, and transmit Your Content solely for the purpose of operating the app and serving your public build page. We do not claim ownership of your content and will not use it for advertising or sell it to third parties.

You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to upload any content you add and that it doesn't infringe anyone else's rights.

6. Acceptable Use

When using Build List, you agree not to:

  • Post content that is illegal, harassing, hateful, or harmful
  • Impersonate other people or misrepresent your affiliation with any brand or organization
  • Upload photos or content you don't have the right to share
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or interfere with the app or its infrastructure
  • Use the app for any unlawful purpose
  • Circumvent any paywalls, access controls, or security features

We reserve the right to remove content or suspend accounts that violate these guidelines.

7. Public Build Pages

When you enable public sharing, your build page is accessible to anyone with the link. You control what appears on your public page and can make it private at any time. You are responsible for the content on your public build page.

8. Intellectual Property

The Build List app, logo, name, and design are owned by CASW Holdings. Nothing in these terms transfers ownership of our intellectual property to you. You may not use our branding without written permission.

9. Third-Party Services

Build List integrates with Supabase (data storage), RevenueCat (subscription management), and Apple (authentication and payments). Your use of those services is also subject to their respective terms and privacy policies.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

BUILD LIST IS PROVIDED “AS IS” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF HARMFUL COMPONENTS.

11. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, CASW HOLDINGS AND ITS OPERATORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF REVENUE, OR LOSS OF GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF BUILD LIST, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

IN NO EVENT WILL OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRIOR TO THE CLAIM.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless CASW Holdings and its operators from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the app, your content, or your violation of these terms.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. We'll notify you of material changes through the app or via email. Continued use of Build List after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.

14. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Any disputes will be resolved in the jurisdiction where CASW Holdings operates.
